Essential oils - Lavender

It's one thing to read about the benefits of using something, and another to experience said goodness.  I have tried this essential oil in a number of different situations, and it has proven, time and time, again that it's a force to be reckoned with.  To you, Lavender EO, I tip my hat off!

Uses so far: ear ache (self induced), minor burns, inflamed toe nail/skin, hemorrhoids, skin inflammation

PS:  I have tried a number of brands, but I always seem to come back to this one.  Anyone have a brand that they particularly favor?

Herbal Boluses

Hi there,

Anyone who's well versed in making and using herbal boluses for the treatment of ovarian cysts/uterine fibroids please hit me up.  I'm interested in finding out:

  • what the best herbal combinations to use would be
  • how many times/week they should be used for them to be effective
  • what regimen user(s) have found to be most effective
  • any links to helpful resources (books/online)

Thanks!

Fermented foods: making the case for...

WHY
  • they contain live bacteria that nourish one's gut
  • they can help repopulate the colon with essential species and restore balance
  • they can help build and maintain a healthy digestive system by improving one's barrier function of the intestinal lining and enhancing nutrient absorption.

Herbal Infusions - why I have started taking them

  • I'm tired of all the supplements I've been taking and want an easier (less pill popping) way to get the benefits without the higher price tag in the long run.
  • They are apparently an optimum source of vitamins critically important for health and extract more medicinal qualities than say taking a herbal tea.
  • I'm curious to see how the apparent benefits of different herbs will complement my health and well being.*

*I started taking Stinging Nettle infusions about three months ago, and what I realized the other day was that my facial skin felt noticeably smoother - should I ascribe this to the nettle?  Perhaps.
